First Step, St. Joseph to offer ‘Happiest Toddler,’ Happiest Baby’ classes

Two Breese organizations, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Community Link’s First Step Early Learning and Family Support Program, are teaming up to offer “Happiest Toddler on the Block” beginning Monday, July 26, at the hospital HealthPlex. “Happiest Toddler” classes are in addition to the “Happiest Baby on the Block” sessions also at the HealthPlex; the next “Happiest Baby” classes will be Aug. 16 and Sept. 13. Healthcare students receive Auxiliary grants

The Auxiliary at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese took the opportunity of their annual meeting June 24 to present $10,000 in grants-in-aid to 20 students pursuing health care careers. Auxiliary Scholarship Committee Chairperson Nancy Renschen (seated, far left) presented the $500 grants. Recipients included (seated, from left) Elizabeth Antonacci, Maggie Burton, Jennifer Thole, Teri Kampwerth, Tara Roeckenhaus, Kelly Mensing, (standing, from left) Valerie Voss, Lisa Deiters, Jenna Geragosian, Kristina Hemann, Elizabeth Henrichs, Kayln Keilbach, Rene Kruse, Teresa Gnaedinger, Samantha Sweeney, Lindsey Wiegmann, Paige Johnson, (not pictured) Brooke Restoff, Jenee Foehner and Jessica Haukap. Each grant was given in memory of an Auxiliary member or friend. Funding is from the Auxiliary’s Lights for Scholarship campaign, memorial and donor donations and a benefit walk, this year planned for Saturday, Sept. 11, at the HealthPlex Fitness Track. Auxiliary elects officers, names chairpersons at annual meeting


Election of officers and naming of committee chairpersons were among the highlights of the 42 nd annual meeting of the Auxiliary at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. The session was held June 24 at the Breese American Legion. Those serving through June 30, 2011, include (seated, from left) President Mary AuBuchon of Aviston, Vice-President Judy Poettker of Germantown, Past President Joanne Ritzheimer of Trenton, Recording Secretary Marge Widman of Carlyle, Corresponding Secretary Nellie Wieter of Breese and (not pictured) Treasurer Carol Gehrs of Breese.
