Friends Board welcomes new members

Three new members have taken their seats on the Friends Board at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

Newly appointed are Stanley Brandmeyer, an attorney who lives and has a practice in New Baden; Albers resident Craig Revermann, a doctor of chiropractic medicine at Revermann Chiropractic and Spinal Rehabilitation in Breese; and Breese resident Timothy Schleper, the Public Works business administrator for the City of Breese.

The appointments were announced at the June 5 Friends Board meeting.

"St. Joseph's in Breese is very fortunate to have men of this caliber on the Friends' Board," said Karyn Whitlatch, hospital Community Relations and Development Director. All were appointed to a three-year term and are eligible to serve three terms.

Born and raised in Clinton County, Brandmeyer received his juris doctor degree from St. Louis University and has focused on general law. A former state's attorney, he was a founding member of the Community Link Special Needs Foundation Board in Breese, served as New Baden Chamber of Commerce president and is involved in church organizational boards, among other activities.

Revermann, who graduated from Breese schools and lived in the city until moving to Albers, received his degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo.

He has been a past supporter of the Friends, including as a team sponsor at the annual golf tournament, and commented at the meeting that he has been impressed with the hospital's advanced technology.

Schleper, a Breese resident for 32 years, received bachelor of arts in management and Master of Business Administration degrees from Webster University in St. Louis.

He has a history of community involvement including in emergency medical services and as a fire department volunteer, policeman, Cub Scout and Breese Chamber of Commerce committee chairman, school board member and participant in the hospital's annual golf tourney.

"I appreciate the opportunity to be part of the hospital," Schleper said at the meeting.

The three new members join the current Friends Board which includes Tom Broeckling of Albers, B. Carson Hempen of New Baden, Irene Kruse of Bartelso, Bryan Marsh of Trenton, Ann Schroeder of Germantown, Jerry Timmermann and Jill Timmermann of Breese.

They replace Elaine Behrmann of Albers and John Hudspeth of Carlyle, who were named to the hospital Board of Directors last fall and completed their Friends' terms this summer, and Leonard Rose of Salem who stepped down from the Friends Board. Hempen was also named to the Board of Directors and will serve on both boards until 2009 when his Friends' term expires.

Founded in 1989, the Friends seek contributions to help meet ongoing needs and provide continued support for the hospital. Examples include an aquatic therapy pool in the new HealthPlex, an Emergency Department triage area, furnishings for one of the hospital's three surgical suites and a heliport.
