Board-certified urologist seeing patients Mondays in Specialty Clinics

Board-certified urologist Demetrios Katsikas, MD

Board-certified urologist Demetrios A. Katsikas, MD, has been appointed to the medical staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese and is seeing patients Mondays in the hospital Specialty Clinics Building.

His clinical focus is on minimally invasive and general urology and urologic oncology. He has been certified by the American Board of Urology since 2000.

Dr. Katsikas received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich., after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus.

At Saint Louis University Medical Center, Dr. Katsikas completed a general surgery internship and a urology residency and served as chief resident. He additionally completed a urologic oncology internship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.

Dr. Katsikas is affiliated with Urology Consultants, Ltd., in St. Louis and on the clinical faculty at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Physicians with Urology Consultants diagnose and treat conditions including urinary tract growths and/or infections, difficulties with bladder control and/or incontinence, female pelvic organ prolapse, blood in urine, prostate disease, kidney stones, infertility and sexual dysfunction.
