St. Joseph’s in Breese offers an outpatient program called Senior Renewal for adults (generally) 60 years and over who are dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety and “nerves.” The program works to restore a sense of well-being and quality of life and helps participants return to the peak of their capabilities. Those interested, and their family if so desired, meets with staff for an evaluation. If appropriate and the participant agrees, an appointment is made with board-certified psychiatrist and program medical director Scott J. Arbaugh, MD. An individual plan of care is developed utilizing program services such as group and individual therapy and education by a psychiatric nurse. Lunch is provided; transportation is available if needed. Group sessions, which also serve as a support group, cover topics including, but not limited to, coping skills, stress reduction, emotions, grief and loss issues.

For details, visit the Senior Renewal home page, call 526-5699 or email Sandy Radford.
