Centered on a Mission of Caring

HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital Breese is an award-winning, acute-care hospital, providing complete inpatient, obstetric, surgical and outpatient facilities. Our HealthPlex/YMCA (adjacent to the hospital) provides state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, medically based fitness training and rehabilitation therapies, enabling individuals to live healthier lifestyles and actively participate in improving their health.

As part of Hospital Sisters Health System, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese offers a “continuum of care” to the patients and families we serve. By leveraging the strengths of our 14-hospital system, patients in our rural hospital are able to receive care that was once available only in large, urban medical centers.

Throughout our continuum of care, you will find the same foundational mission principles – that every life is a sacred gift, and every human being is a unity of body, mind and spirit. Our health care ministry calls upon us to promote wellness for all persons, with special attention to our brothers and sisters who are poor, underserved and most vulnerable. These principles are the basis for St. Joseph’s Hospital, as well as HSHS as a whole, to provide high quality, cost-effective health care to the patients and families we serve.

What's the Latest?

We are proud to announce that “Friends of St. Joseph’s Hospital” has changed its name to the HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation - Breese.

Our new name better reflects our mission and role as the philanthropic arm of HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, making it clearer who we are and what we do. While our name has changed, the purpose of HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation remains the same. We will continue to serve as a local avenue for community giving and volunteering to ensure the best health care possible for the patients we serve at St. Joseph’s. Every dollar raised by HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation directly impacts the care we provide our patients.

We remain an integral part of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, which serves all 14 HSHS hospitals throughout Illinois and Wisconsin, and assures that all funds raised stay local and are appropriately administered to provide the greatest impact for our communities. As your philanthropic partner, we work hard every day to make a positive difference for all of our colleagues and the care we provide. Together, we can continue to elevate health care for all. If you have questions, please feel free to contact our philanthropy office at (618) 526-5439.
